SABRINA PACITTO

Baba Yaga, an evil witch in Slavic folklore, buried herself into these portraits, being the one holding us back from connecting to our true selves, trying to eat us before we escape into the ground, the dirt, the trees. These photographs emphasize the desire, the tension and desperation to unite with the roots of the natural Earth, inspired by self-made rituals. Personal to my background and high fashion interests, the images transform into their own stylized folklore rendition, with help from movies, music and traditions from groups like Pagans, Native American Tribes, Vikings and Nordic people.
