HANNAH KROESCHE

Within my body of work, I capture personal escapism through the self-portrait by connecting my reflections of a quarantine world and my outlet to escape traumatic reality. I utilize the triptych to invent a storyline with varying degrees of altered realities. I show the progression of myself in each scene as I begin from an ultimate high of escapism and tumble into the uncontrollable, overwhelming breakdown around me. To create this work I use a variety of media including; colored pencils blended with mineral spirits, concentrated watercolors, and ink, which ties in the elements of illustration and graphic motifs.
