I have worked tutoring kids with math for years, and throughout all those years the way that the education system keeps failing these students has disappointed me over and over again. I wanted to do something for those kids and design a system in which difficult subjects like mathematics would be easier for children, especially those with learning disabilities, to understand. By using color and different ways to show emphasis, my goal was to be able to visually aid these students to identify the patterns in word problems that their disabilities hinder them from finding.
