BROOKE FOSTER

My work is informed by fast paced observations made while traveling by car and watching the world pass by outside the window. The speed at which the vehicle moves prevents complete comprehension, leaving me to ponder the colors that blurred my vision and the main “idea”, or characteristics of the land that impacted me. I use this observational filter to create “implied landscapes”. These ambiguous oil paintings capture the emotive undertones of landscape, not through direct representation, but through manipulation of the forms and colors that I find most captivating.
